I’ll take over from here

The passage of Proposition 8 in California takes back the right for gays and lesbians to marry. Everyone who donated more than $1000 to support Proposition 8, by law, had to have their information made available to public record. Once Proposition 8 passed, the gay community got upset and started boycotting every business that was on that list.
Business has suffered greatly because of this. Social venues have closed, and participating shops have noticed huge drops in patronage. This has caused onlookers to shake their heads. ”Boycotts and retaliation won’t help us. Boycotting doesn’t accomplish anything.”
I rather enjoy it whenever someone says, “boycotting won’t help.” You see, citizens have two options: to participate or withdraw from society. Everyone who withdraws surrenders their decisions to other people, like me, who participate. So to everyone who feels boycotts don’t change anything, I’m now running your life by proxy. I’m in charge of your opinions. Go back inside where everything’s warm and cozy, and you can pretend like nothings wrong. I’ll take over from here.
Note: Last year, a bunch of conservatives got together and flagged this website as spam on Digg. Because of that, this article cannot be submitted to Digg.

I’m not gay, but I support the cause. We have the same struggle with the “conservatives” down here in Brazil. I wish you all the best, and keep your chin up. You shall persevere, no matter how long it takes.
